Kåre “Lefty” Amundsen has been a major force in the Norwegian blues-roots-rock world for decades. He has performed with legendary musicians both in Norway and in the US and his work has touched thousands. Raised in Svalbard Spitsbergen, Kåre’s musical journey started when he was young. As an aspiring young drummer, and being left-handed, Kåre was greatly influenced by the great rock drummer Ian Pace (Deep Purple). KISS drummer Peter Criss and Led Zeppelin John Bonham was also a huge influence. In April 2019 he and his band represented Norway in the European Band Contest, European Blues Challenge (EBC). They received an impressive 2nd place among 22 other bands from Europe. Besides his band The Blues Express, Kåre works with Dave Fields in the US and Europe (Live shows and recordings) and various artists in Norway.
